Born and raised in Fontana California. Fish attended A.B. Miller high school in Fontana, where as a senior he was first team all C.B.L. MVP, all CIF and all San Bernardino County, and also winning three consecutive league titles at Miller. Fish was drafted by the Angels in the 6th round of the 2006 MLB first year player draft. Fish just finished his first full year as a minor leaguer spent two weeks in high A Rancho Cucamonga, and his full year for the Orem Owlz in Orem, Utah. During the 2007 season Fish earned Pioneer League all star honors leading the league with strikeouts and second in ERA.
